We have developed, with the assistance of GreenInfo Network, using the Geobrowser Google Earth, a dynamic look at Redwood Landfill. This powerful tool allows us to look at a number of different scenarios. It clearly demonstrates the risks Marin County will be taking by allowing dump expansion.

Hints for use:

1. On the left sidebar panel under layers at bottom click off all but “terrain” (the sidebar if not shown it can be activated under “view”)

2. Click on Redwood Landfill in the sidebar for links to the demonstration.

3. IMPORTANT After each view — click off the checkbox - under “places” in the sidebar. This will remove the last view (layer) on the screen as you move through the demonstration.

4. Use the navigation features on the top right for orientation, altitude, and terrain views. The use of a mouse scroll wheel is also helpful.

This tool is extremely powerful and requires some familiarization and play with time to utilize all it’s power.
